We feature work from writers of all kinds, even first time—and unpublished writers. We seek realness. Real stories, written by people who live here.
If it sounds personal—it’s because it is. We write what we like. We want to hear the writers’ voice in the stories we publish. Narrative journalism, creative nonfiction — but also: commentary, criticism, essays, fiction, snark, reviews, illustrations, and photography. Add your voice to the heart—and heartbreak of life in the city.
We are not
We are not secretly owned by a marketing company, or a political think tank, or a political cause. We don’t publish sponsored content. We are not digital nomads.

We don’t have one. Our website doesn’t use cookies or trackers. We don’t have pop-ups. We don’t want your email address, we don’t have a newsletter.
Advertising
We are re-introducing the banner ad. Not animated, no sound. A stoic offering from a local, sensible, business or service. The banners will be at the end of the articles—and can be directed to any website you choose. Consider this simple, cost-effective, and proven option to reach your customers.
